Before You Begin
- Ensure you have all necessary tools: a drill, screwdrivers, a tape measure, and a pencil.
- Check the wall for any hidden pipes or cables before drilling. A stud finder is recommended.
- Unpack your new curtains or blinds and check all parts are present.
Pencil Pleat Curtains
1. Bracket Installation: Measure and mark the bracket positions. We recommend placing them 15cm above the window frame and 15cm out from each side.
2. Gathering the Pleats: Pull the strings at one end of the curtain heading tape until the curtain is gathered to the desired width (usually the width of your curtain pole).
3. Hanging the Curtains: Insert curtain hooks into the heading tape pockets and hang them onto the curtain pole rings.
Roller & Venetian Blinds
1. Inside or Outside Recess: Decide if you want to fit the blind inside or outside the window recess. This will determine your bracket placement.
2. Bracket Installation: Securely fix the brackets to the wall or window frame, ensuring they are level.
3. Fitting the Blind: Click the blind's headrail securely into the installed brackets. For roller blinds, ensure the fabric rolls off the back for a closer fit to the window.
Final Checks
Operate your new blind or draw your curtains to ensure they move smoothly. Adjust as necessary. For child safety, ensure all cords and chains are secured with the provided safety device.
